Powershell cmdlets for Server Manager task

October 18, 2010 Leave a comment

Since Windows Server 2008 R2 I can install/remove Features and Roles via PowerShell.

But, not all Features can be installed !!  If you try to install WSUS via PowerShell ADD-WindowsFeature you will be receive a error message Smile

… Warning: Installation of ‘ Windows Server Update Service’ is not supported on the command line.Skipping …..

What for the hell is that, Guys from Microsoft? Ok, I will use SERVERMANAGERCMD –install OOB-WSUS.

Up’s, it is not true, the same error message Sad smile .

The result to try a installation of WSUS via the new Servermanager PowerShell CMDLETS fails, and the one and only possibility is to install the feature via GUI-Servermanager!

Not really homogenous.
